History

The first contacts with international cooperation in mind were made in 1948 at the initiative of the British Guild of Metal Perforators. Although these efforts first failed, other contacts took place in 1955 at the request of the German Metal Perforators. After a few years of discussions, the decision to form an association was taken at a meeting on 25 October 1961 in Brussels.

The Europerf constitution was officially signed on 26 June 1962 at Le Touquet. Europerf then included English, French and German members.
